Be the Change You Want to See in Detroit

Digital archive project of the City of Detroit, MI.

Detroit’s long and turbulent history has affected the city and its inhabitants in severely hurting neighborhoods, some of them turning into completely abandoned areas. Its population, mainly black, suffers from this ongoing decline and the history of segregation.

“Be the Change You Want to See in Detroit” is a photographic recompilation of the city and its citizens I did in 2011. From the black inhabitants of ghost neighborhoods, to the white businessmen of downtown, this project is an ethnographic archive of the Motor City.

China, Urban and Rural

A series of 24 photographs which explores the two opposite ways of life in a rapidly developing country.

This series of 24 photographs shows the differences between rural and urban China. The images have been taken during a trip I did through China crossing the country from south to north in 2010. I traveled more than 5,000 km starting in Shenzhen to finish in Beijing one month later. I traveled by train, bus and boat.

The route includes the towns of Caton, Wuzhou, Guiling, Chongqing, Wuhan, Shanghai, Qingdao and Beijing.
